Offered for sale is a beautiful 2005 Kenny Hill Antonio de Torres Model, a refined concert instrument inspired by the revolutionary designs of the legendary Spanish master whose work forever changed the course of classical guitar making. Built in Felton, California and bearing its original signed label, this one-owner guitar remains in exceptional original condition and represents one of Kenny Hill's finest interpretations of the historic Torres aesthetic.

Rather than producing an exact copy of a specific Torres guitar, Kenny Hill sought to capture the design principles that made Antonio de Torres the most influential builder in the history of the classical guitar. Torres established the proportions, fan bracing, and lightweight construction that became the foundation of the modern concert instrument. Hill's interpretation honors those traditions while incorporating the precision and consistency of contemporary American craftsmanship.

This example features a beautifully matured European spruce top paired with striking quilted maple back and sides. While rosewood often dominates the modern concert guitar market, maple was frequently used by Torres himself and contributes a distinctly different tonal character. The result is an instrument with remarkable immediacy, exceptional clarity, and outstanding note separation. The voice is clean, articulate, and highly responsive, with warm but focused basses, brilliant trebles, and an expressive singing quality that rewards subtle right-hand technique. It is particularly well suited to the music of Tárrega, Sor, Giuliani, Bach, and the great Spanish repertoire, where transparency and articulation are paramount.

Playability is effortless thanks to its comfortable 640 mm scale length and 50 mm nut width. The current setup measures 3.2 mm on the bass side and 2.9 mm on the treble side at the 12th fret with approximately 1 mm of saddle remaining. The neck feels compact and inviting, making extended practice sessions and demanding concert literature equally enjoyable.

This guitar remains in excellent original condition with no cracks, repairs, or structural issues. It has been carefully maintained by its original owner and exhibits only the light cosmetic evidence of thoughtful use. Finding a one-owner Kenny Hill Torres Model in this condition is increasingly uncommon, particularly with such beautifully figured quilted maple.
