Bearing a signed label and low production number, this instrument represents Hillhorst's meticulous craftsmanship and uncompromising approach to concert guitar design.

Unlike many builders who adhere strictly to traditional Spanish construction, Jeroen Hillhorst developed his own structural concepts while remaining firmly rooted in classical guitar tradition. His instruments are individually voiced and built in limited numbers, earning a reputation among professional players for exceptional projection, remarkable clarity, and effortless responsiveness. This particular guitar was featured at the Guitar Foundation of America (GFA), further demonstrating the level of performance expected from Hillhorst's work.

Built with a beautifully aged European spruce top and striking Madagascar rosewood back and sides, this guitar possesses a powerful concert voice with outstanding dynamic range. The unique internal bracing produces exceptional headroom, allowing the instrument to maintain focus and clarity even under an aggressive right hand. The basses are deep and commanding without becoming muddy, while the trebles remain brilliant, colorful, and beautifully sustained. The traditional 650 mm scale length and 52 mm nut width provide a familiar feel, while the current setup measures 4.0 mm on the bass side and 3.2 mm on the treble side at the 12th fret, offering excellent projection without sacrificing comfort. The slightly heavier overall build contributes to its impressive volume and sustain, characteristics that have become hallmarks of Hillhorst's finest concert instruments.

This guitar remains in excellent overall condition. Two professionally repaired hairline cracks are present on the upper bass-side bout near the armrest. The repairs are stable, structurally sound, and have no impact on the instrument's exceptional performance.
