A fascinating piece of American lutherie history: a 1969 handmade classical guitar by Richard A. Campbell of San Francisco, built during the height of the folk and classical guitar boom that swept the Bay Area in the late 1960s. Campbell was part of a generation of independent American luthiers inspired by the folk revival, and instruments from this period are increasingly rare and collectible.
This guitar is light in weight with impressive sonorities — a genuinely great-sounding instrument that reflects both the craftsmanship and the spirit of its era. Spruce top over Indian rosewood back and sides. Excellent condition with only a small ding on the top and light play wear — no cracks, no structural issues.
